Why we built KickOff
Starting a business in Mauritius means juggling a lot of unfamiliar steps at once — registration, tax, banking, hiring, and finding people you can trust to help. Most of that information is scattered across different offices, websites, and word-of-mouth advice that doesn't always agree.
We built KickOff to bring it together in one place. The goal of this blog is simple: clear, honest, practical guidance for people actually doing the work of building a business here. No jargon, no filler.
What we'll write about
Expect posts grouped around the things founders ask us about most:
- Starting a business — registration, structuring, and the early decisions that are easier to get right the first time.
- Tax basics — the fundamentals every owner should understand, including the flat 15% corporate tax rate that applies in Mauritius.
- Banking — opening a business account and what to prepare before you walk in.
- Hiring — the basics of bringing your first people on board.
- Finding service providers — how to choose accountants, agents, and other partners without guessing.
We'll keep posts short and focused, and we'll point you to deeper material in our free guides where it helps.
Who this is for
This blog is written for first-time founders and small business owners in Mauritius — people who want straight answers and a clear next step, not a lecture. If you're weighing up whether to register, unsure how tax works, or just trying to figure out who to talk to, you're in the right place.
